Open Landscape

The main feature of the landscape of the eastern part of Korsholm is the sweeping, open valley of the river Kyro. The lower reaches of the Toby river and Söderfjärden in the south are characterized by the same type of landscape.

This is the opposite of the islands where the small fields are enclosed in stone walls which bear witness to the hard work of earlier generations in a harsh environment.
